Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are a legal agreement between you and SPENDMINT, LLC (“SpendMint,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) governing your access to and use of the SpendMint website at spendmint.io, mobile web application, progressive web app, and related services (collectively, the “Service”). By creating an account, accessing, or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and capable of forming a binding contract to use the Service. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you meet these requirements and that all information you provide is accurate and complete. Accounts registered on behalf of a business or other legal entity must be authorized by that entity.

2. Account registration and security

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to notify us immediately at ok2abella@gmail.com of any unauthorized use or suspected breach. We are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to safeguard your account.

3. Description of the Service

SpendMint provides personal finance and grocery-savings tools that help you track spending, build budgets, monitor net worth, scan products and receipts, plan meals, split SNAP/EBT-eligible purchases from out-of-pocket amounts, and receive automated recommendations. The Service may integrate with third-party providers — including Plaid Inc. for bank connections, Google for authentication and AI processing, Stripe for payments, and Open Food Facts and Barcode Lookup for product data — to retrieve account balances, transactions, product information, and related data with your consent.

4. Financial data and third-party services

To use certain features, you may link bank accounts, credit cards, investment accounts, or other financial accounts through our third-party provider. You authorize us and our provider to access, store, and process your financial data as described in our Privacy Policy. You are responsible for:

  • Keeping your third-party account credentials secure.
  • Reviewing the accuracy of imported transactions and balances.
  • Understanding that account access may be interrupted if the third-party provider or financial institution changes its services.

We do not store your bank login credentials. Your use of any third-party service is also subject to that provider’s terms and privacy policy.

5. SNAP/EBT and benefit information

SpendMint’s SNAP eligibility classifications, benefit splits, and related estimates are informational tools derived from public food databases and retailer data. Eligibility determinations are made solely by your state agency and the retailer’s point-of-sale system. We are not a government agency, and the Service does not issue, load, or manage EBT benefits. Always confirm the final benefit split on your register receipt.

6. Coupons, offers, and swap credits

Digital coupons, sponsored swaps, and brand-funded credits shown in the Service are provided by third-party brands and retailers and are subject to their terms, availability, and expiration dates. Projected savings are estimates; actual savings depend on retailer pricing and your redemption behavior. SpendMint is not responsible for a retailer’s refusal to honor any coupon or offer.

7. Subscriptions, billing, and refunds

Some features require a paid subscription. Paid plans are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis, as selected at checkout, and renew automatically unless cancelled. You can cancel from the Settings page at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.

  • Prices are subject to change with reasonable notice.
  • All fees are non-refundable unless required by law or stated otherwise in a specific promotion.
  • Failed payments may result in suspension of premium features until payment is resolved.

8. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any illegal, fraudulent, or unauthorized purpose.
  • Scrape, crawl, reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code.
  • Circumvent rate limits, authentication, or access controls.
  • Upload, transmit, or store data you do not have the right to share.
  • Interfere with the security or availability of the Service.
  • Impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation with any entity.
  • Misuse SNAP/EBT features, including submitting receipts or barcodes that are not yours in order to obtain credits or benefits.

9. Intellectual property

SPENDMINT, LLC and its licensors own all rights, title, and interest in the Service, including all software, designs, text, graphics, logos, and trademarks. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for personal, non-commercial purposes in accordance with these Terms. You retain ownership of any data you input, subject to the license granted in our Privacy Policy.

10. User content

You may submit data, receipts, labels, notes, or other content to the Service (“User Content”). You represent that you have the right to provide User Content and that it does not violate any law or third-party rights. You grant SPENDMINT, LLC a limited license to use, store, and process User Content solely to operate and improve the Service.

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account and access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, for conduct that violates these Terms or for any other reason we deem necessary to protect the Service or other users. You may delete your account at any time from the Settings page. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately; provisions that by their nature should survive termination will survive.

12. Disclaimers — not financial advice

The Service is provided for informational and personal budgeting purposes only. Insights, forecasts, alerts, coaching messages, AI-generated recommendations, and any other content generated by SpendMint do not constitute financial, investment, tax, legal, nutritional, or accounting advice. We are not a bank, broker, investment adviser, dietitian, or credit counselor. Always consult a qualified professional before making financial or dietary decisions. THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, SECURE, OR THAT DATA WILL BE ACCURATE OR COMPLETE.

13. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, SPENDMINT, LLC AND ITS OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, AND LICENSORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF USD $100 OR THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO SPENDMINT IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

14. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless SPENDMINT, LLC and its officers, employees, agents, and licensors from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of or relating to your use of the Service, your User Content, or your violation of these Terms.

15. Governing law and dispute resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising out of these Terms or the Service will be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Delaware. You consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.

16. Changes to these Terms

We may modify these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated “Last updated” date and, where appropriate, notified in-app or by email. Your continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

17. Entire agreement and severability

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy, and any other policies referenced herein, constitute the entire agreement between you and SPENDMINT, LLC regarding the Service. If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
